Formed in 2016 by a group of Japanese artists — including Hawaiʻi Triennial 2022 artist Izumi Kato — on the Koshikishima Islands, THE TETORAPOTZ is a band that composes original music and lyrics. Performing primarily within the context of visual art projects or band members’ exhibitions, THE TETORAPOTZ wear unique masks that they made while playing their music. Audiences are encouraged to make their own mask and join in on the fun.
